If you came across an old D&D module called ST-1 "Up the Garden Path", you might decide to put it on eBay. Since it's old (1986) and pretty thin (16 pages), you might put it up with a minimum price of 99p, and hope that someone will bid it up a few pounds to complete their collection.

You probably wouldn't expect that, after a week and 34 bids, it would sell for £1,100.

ST-1 was printed as a limited run of 600, and only 200 were ever sold. Only about 60 are known to exist now. Something tells me that, with an initial price of 99p, the seller didn't know that.

I did notice that the winner of the auction sniped it 10 seconds before the end, having not bid before. Typical of eBay these days.
